Plank Door with Iron Strapwork, Timberline Lodge

An interior plank door at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood with a small window and hand-forged iron strapwork along the bottom.

Design characteristics

Timberline's doors were made by WPA craftsmen with wide vertical planks, hand-forged iron hardware and decorative strapping. This one has a small square window and a band of cut iron across the bottom. Plank doors with iron detail are a natural fit for mountain houses and can be made in solid wood or as engineered cores with plank faces for stability in Colorado's dry climate.
