Dining Room of the Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone (historic postcard)

A historic postcard view of the dining room at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone, with a log frame, rustic trusses and tables set for guests.

Design characteristics

The Old Faithful Inn's dining room repeats the lobby's rustic language at a smaller scale: exposed log posts and trusses, a big stone fireplace and simple furniture. This early postcard shows how the room was originally presented to visitors. A log-framed dining room is an ambitious project, but the trusses and posts can be echoed with timber-clad beams and wainscot in a mountain home.
