Painted Paneled Entrance Doors, Agramgasse 12, Hall in Tirol
Arched double doors on a listed house in the old town of Hall in Tirol, with painted frames and panels carved with stylized flowers.
Design characteristics
The entrance to Agramgasse 12, a protected monument in the old town of Hall in Tirol, fills a round-arched stone opening with a pair of paneled doors. Each leaf has a glazed arched top light and two panels below, and the panels carry relief flowers in the same pale gray-violet paint, outlined against green and ochre frames. Painting the joinery in several soft colors, rather than leaving it as natural wood, is a long-standing practice in Tyrolean towns, where the doorway was the main decorative feature of an otherwise plain plastered facade.
