Stickley Built-in Sideboard Flanked by Dish Cupboards (1909)

An illustration from Craftsman Homes of a sideboard built into a recess with dish cupboards on either side, plus a dining room with a broad window bay and seat.

Design characteristics

This sideboard design is a full storage wall: a long counter with drawers and cupboards below, a band of small panels above, and glazed dish cupboards at each end rising to the ceiling. The lower plate shows a window seat extended across the width of a bay. Both ideas suit dining rooms and kitchens that need generous storage without looking utilitarian.
