Dresser with Blue-and-White China

A dark wood dresser (in Welsh, a 'dresel') loaded with blue-and-white plates on its shelves, with a row of drawers and a clock on the work surface.

Design characteristics

Blue-and-white china on a dark oak dresser is one of the enduring images of the British country home. The dark wood sets off the pattern of the plates, and the plate rails let each one lean forward for display. For cabinet design, the key details are the depth of the shelves, the height between them and the small rail that holds plates upright, all easy to build into a custom dresser or open shelving.
