Kitchen with Built-in Cases from the Curtis Woodwork Catalog (1926)

A page from the 1926 Curtis Woodwork catalog titled 'Homemaking Begins in the Kitchen', showing a kitchen fitted with built-in cases and a fold-down ironing board.

Design characteristics

By the 1920s, kitchens were planned for efficiency, with built-in cases replacing freestanding furniture. This Curtis kitchen has wall cases with glazed upper doors, a counter with drawers and cupboards, and a built-in ironing board. The simple flat-panel doors and painted finish are typical of the period and look fresh today. It is a good reference for a period-appropriate kitchen in a Denver Square or bungalow.
