Corner China Closets C-703 and C-704, Curtis Woodwork (1926)

A page from the 1926 Curtis Woodwork catalog presenting 'new-old-fashioned' corner china closets, built-in cupboards with arched glazed upper doors.

Design characteristics

Curtis marketed these corner china closets as modern reproductions of old-time corner cupboards, built into the corners of a dining room. Each has a glazed upper section, sometimes with an arched top, over a paneled lower cupboard. A pair in opposite corners of a dining room was a common arrangement in houses of the 1910s and 1920s, and they remain one of the most useful built-ins for display and storage.
