Shaker Small Corner Cupboard (Index of American Design, c. 1937)

A watercolor rendering by Lon Cronk of a small Shaker corner cupboard mounted on the wall above painted blue wainscot.

Design characteristics

This small corner cupboard hangs above a painted wainscot, with a single panelled door and a simple cornice. The rendering also records the room's colors: dark wood above blue-painted paneling. Small corner cupboards are an easy way to add storage to a bathroom, kitchen or entry without taking up floor space.
