Painted Beam Bracket, Musée de l'École de Nancy

A painted wooden beam and bracket in the Musée de l'École de Nancy, decorated with stylized plant forms in blue and gold.

The Musée de l'École de Nancy preserves furniture and interiors by the Nancy school of Art Nouveau designers. This beam bracket shows how they treated structural elements: the bracket curves like a growing stem and is painted with plant forms. Decorative brackets like this can support a mantel shelf, a range hood or open shelving, and the curve can be cut on the CNC and painted or stained.
