Carved Main Door, Museum of Cultural History, Oslo (1902)

Carved wooden decoration on the main door of the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo, an Art Nouveau building by Henrik Bull completed in 1902.

The museum building on Frederiks gate in Oslo was begun by Karl August Henriksen and completed by Henrik Bull in 1902. Its main door is carved with flowing, organic decoration that blends Art Nouveau curves with Norwegian woodcarving traditions. We include it as a reference for carved panel design. Exterior doors are outside our current custom range, but the carved motifs can be adapted to interior doors and panels.
