Farmhouse Stube, Hof Hörl-Wetscher, Tyrol
The Stube of the Hörl-Wetscher farmhouse in Tyrol, with board-paneled walls, built-in benches and simple furniture.
Another farmhouse Stube shows the variation possible within the tradition: wood-paneled walls darkened with age, benches along two walls, and a table in the corner under the family's religious corner. The woodwork is entirely practical, but its warmth comes from the material and the enclosed scale. Board paneling and built-in benches are an affordable way to give a mountain room this feeling.
Board-paneled walls and built-in benches in knotty pine or larch; Signature tier.
A custom version typically runs $700–$1,050 per linear foot, installed in Colorado.
