Art Nouveau Dining Room, Musée de l'École de Nancy
A complete Art Nouveau dining room in the Musée de l'École de Nancy, with carved wood paneling, a built-in sideboard and fireplace, and a painted ceiling.
This dining room is a total work of art, with furniture, paneling, fireplace and ceiling designed together. The carved wood rises from the floor into a painted ceiling, the sideboard and fireplace are built into the paneling, and every element shares the same flowing plant forms. It is the most ambitious kind of interior, but individual parts, such as the sideboard or the fireplace surround, can be adapted for a modern dining room.
Carved paneling, built-in sideboard and mantel in walnut or oak; Heirloom tier.
A custom version typically runs $65–$160 per sq ft of wall, shipped as a kit.
