Art Deco Radiator Grille, Collège des Célestins, Vichy
An Art Deco radiator grille at the Collège des Célestins in Vichy, France, a geometric metal screen designed to cover a heating radiator.
Many Art Deco buildings treated heating radiators as part of the architecture, setting them into niches behind decorative grilles. This French example uses a repeating geometric pattern that hides the radiator while letting heat pass through. Radiator covers remain one of the most practical custom pieces in older houses, and Deco patterns of overlapping arcs, chevrons and stepped lines are well suited to them.
Radiator cover with a CNC-cut geometric Deco grille and a solid top; Signature tier.
A custom version typically runs $850–$1,600 per cover, shipped.
