Doorway from Chalkley Hall, Frankford, Pennsylvania (c. 1776)
A Georgian doorway from Chalkley Hall near Philadelphia, about 1776, with a stone surround framing a paneled wood door.
Chalkley Hall was a country house in Frankford, outside Philadelphia. Its doorway, now at the Metropolitan Museum, pairs a granite frame with a paneled wood door in the formal Georgian manner, balanced and strongly framed. We include it as a reference for proportion and panel layout. Exterior doors are outside our current custom range, but the same panel arrangement can be used for an interior door or a matching paneled entry wall.
Reference only for exterior doors. The panel layout can be adapted to an interior door or wall paneling.
Exterior Doors are not part of our custom range yet. Leave your details and we will let you know when they are.
